BATON ROUGE, La. – The Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank (GBRFB) is urgently seeking volunteers to assist with assembling disaster relief boxes in preparation for a potential storm that could affect the Baton Rouge area and other parts of Louisiana.
Emergency volunteer shifts have been scheduled for Monday, Sept. 9, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., with additional opportunities available on Tuesday, Sept. 10. The food bank will continue to accept volunteers throughout the week as long as weather conditions remain safe.
To accommodate those unable to volunteer during regular hours, the GBRFB has also added evening shifts, providing more flexibility for individuals to help after work or school.
The food bank is mobilizing efforts to ensure essential supplies are ready for those who may be impacted by the storm. Volunteers are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible.
