Augustus to be Inducted into Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame Saturday

BATON ROUGE, La – Seimone Augustus, former LSU women's basketball star, four-time WNBA champion, and three-time Olympic gold medalist, will be inducted into the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday.

Augustus, currently an assistant coach for the LSU women's basketball team, has had a remarkable year. She was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame earlier this year and is set to be enshrined in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in August.

During a press conference on Thursday, Augustus highlighted the personal significance of this induction. "It's been a Hall of Fame year for me," she said. "When I got the phone call for this one, it was the best because being honored by the people that I know and love, who have watched me since I was little, means the most to me. Many people here can probably share a story or are related to me in some way. This one definitely means the most because it's home."
