Music Art & Poetry Brings Baton Rouge Creatives to the Stage
BATON ROUGE, La. — Baton Rouge's finest artistic talents will come together for a night of cultural expression during "Music Art & Poetry: An Urban Artistic Experience (MAP)," set to take place on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024, at the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge.
The Virginia & John Noland Black Box will transform into a vibrant cultural hub, showcasing 10 of Louisiana’s most talented visual artists. In addition to the art, attendees will enjoy live performances from local musicians Rayne Myers and Seynabou, spoken word artists, and music curated by DJ CWILL. The evening’s cuisine will be provided by Tre’s Street Kitchen.
The event is a collaboration between Creatives for the Culture, Network of Women (NOW), and The Red Stick Project, each focused on uplifting communities through art, empowerment, and advocacy. Proceeds from MAP will benefit these organizations.
- Creatives for the Culture provides professional development and visibility platforms for creatives of color.
- Network of Women (NOW) works to promote menstrual equity and provide essential hygiene products for women and girls.
- The Red Stick Project enhances Baton Rouge neighborhoods through community-led public art.
