BATON ROUGE, La. — The East Baton Rouge School System has released the names of the semi-finalists in its search for a new superintendent.

On Wednesday morning, June 12, the district posted the names of the 17 applicants online. Among them are the current interim superintendent, a former superintendent, and the current chief of human resources for the district. Additionally, former superintendents from the City of Baker and St. Landry Parish School District and LSU Lab School's current superintendent are in the running.

The semi-finalists selected for the position are:

  • Adam Smith
  • Andrea Zayas
  • Krish Mohip
  • Kevin George
  • Patrick Jenkins

The school board aims to appoint the new superintendent by July 1, though this date may change, officials said.

At the recent school board meeting, members approved a timeline that includes selecting semi-finalists for virtual interviews on June 18. Finalists will be named on June 20, followed by a public meet-and-greet on June 26. Live interviews with the finalists are scheduled for June 27, with the final selection set for July 1.

The search for a new superintendent began after Dr. Sito Narcisse stepped down in January, five months before his contract was set to expire.
