BATON ROUGE, La. – The East Baton Rouge Parish School Board is set to appoint a new superintendent during a meeting scheduled for Wednesday, July 24, beginning at 4 p.m. This decision follows an extensive application process involving diverse candidates, each offering a unique blend of qualifications and experience.

The board has announced a list of ten candidates, selected from a competitive field, and has already moved forward with plans to interview Lamont Cole. The candidates, listed alphabetically, include:

  • James Finney
  • Donald Green
  • Robin Harris
  • James Kador
  • Verna Ruffin
  • Corwin Robinson
  • Sean Thorpe
  • Rochelle Washington-Scott

Among these, Williams, Robinson, Finney, and Ruffin are noted for having resubmitted their applications after initially applying.

Former Superintendent Sito Narcisse, who had reapplied for the position, withdrew his application on Wednesday afternoon.
