President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump will face off in a highly anticipated CNN Presidential Debate on Thursday, marking their first encounter since the 2020 election.

The debate, hosted in Atlanta, Georgia, a crucial battleground state, will be broadcast live on CNN at 9 p.m. Eastern Time. There will be no studio audience present.

Local News Live will also provide coverage, with anchors Graham Ulkins and Camila Rueda reporting from Washington. Following the debate, senior national correspondent Peter Zampa will deliver live updates from Atlanta.

Despite being the only major Republican candidate, Trump is not officially the GOP nominee until the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, starting July 15. Robert Kennedy Jr., a third-party candidate and son of the late U.S. Attorney General, did not meet the qualifications to join Biden and Trump on the debate stage.

According to a recent poll by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, most Americans plan to watch the debate. However, both candidates continue to face significant unpopularity. About 60% of Americans have a "very or somewhat unfavorable view" of both Biden and Trump, with approximately 30% expressing dissatisfaction with the likely nominees.
