Baker, Louisiana - The Baker Chamber of Commerce spearheaded yet another successful edition of the Baker Community Charity Golf Tournament on May 4, 2024, at the picturesque BREC Beaver Creek Golf Course in Zachary, Louisiana. From 8 am to 2 pm, participants and spectators alike were treated to a day filled with camaraderie, competition, and philanthropy.

Marking its annual occurrence, this year's tournament witnessed an impressive turnout with 28 teams vying for victory and supporting a noble cause. Notable community organizations including The Lions Club, The Pilot Club, and the Baker Chamber of Commerce played pivotal roles in orchestrating the event, alongside the esteemed addition of The Rotary, making its debut partnership this year.

Distinguished figures such as Desiree Odell-Collins, President of The Rotary Club, Dr. Barbara Parker, President of The Pilot Club, and Evelyn Parker, Ambassador of the Baker Chamber of Commerce, lent their leadership and enthusiasm to the proceedings. Tierney Bennett and Marie Powell, members of The Rotary and The Pilot Club respectively, alongside Gloria Johnson, also a member of The Pilot Club, shared sentiments of community support, highlighting the commitment to providing $5,000 in scholarships to students at Baker High School annually.

Dr. LC Thomas, representing The Lions Club and hailing as the BAC commander from Baton Rouge, brought a wealth of experience and dedication to the event, further solidifying its impact. Generous sponsorships from entities like O'Reily Auto Parts bolstered the tournament's outreach and effectiveness, underscoring the collaborative spirit of the Baker community.

Beyond the greens, participants indulged in delectable jambalaya, skillfully cooked and served to perfection, adding a savory touch to the day's festivities. As the competition unfolded, top-performing teams were honored with trophies, recognizing their prowess and sportsmanship.
